After taking a week off for vacation, coming back to reality was a bit hard. I think I’m STILL on island time. I’ve been playing Dead Island for the XBOX and it brings me back to the resort we stayed at…well minus the zombie-pacolpyse. For Doug all it means is coming home to a stable Internet connection and liberally applying aloe vera occasionally.

I’m going on my first “real” vacation since about 10 years ago. That’s not to say I haven’t had a vacation but flying back to the east coast to see my family isn’t anything like going to a sunny beach and drinking Mai Tais (sorry Mom). It will be nice to go somewhere and disconnect. No checking e-mails, Facebook statuses or endless Tweets. Although I’m sure at some point I will. Baby steps. That led me to the idea for this strip. Every hotel seems to have Internet so even going on vacation you can still connect if you want to. Doug wouldn’t know what to do if he was completely disconnected so why not bring all the comforts of home? Does it defeat the purpose? Yes. But Doug isn’t know to make the best decisions. I, however, will do my best.

This strip was intended to be completed before the holidays but thanks to work and an outdated computer I wasn’t able to do it. It was reworked a bit to work post X-Mas so I hope it still works. Anyway, after playing Left 4 Dead 2 I went to sleep and had some strange dreams with zombies of all kinds. The game is lots of fun but I recommend playing during the day.
